Meadow Park, Tortoiseshell Way, Braintree, is a £20 million development on a 12 acre site. Plans include 49 one and two-bedroom apartments, 21 two-bedroom cottages and 31 bungalows in landscaped grounds. Infrastructure work and construction of the first phase starts in January 2006. Phase 1 will consist of 32 units - 16 cottages, 14 bungalows, 2 apartments and the clubhouse - which are planned to be ready in the early autumn. Phases 2 and 3, to be completed over the following two years, will include the construction of further facilities for functions, events and classes for the residents.
