MEADOW PARK, BRAINTREE: Residents’ Association

Chairman David Woollcott reports a most successful first half year for the Meadow Park Residents’ Association. “We’re making tremendous progress”, he says. “With a very busy programme. We have regular Thursday coffee mornings so everyone can catch up with events, Park developments and gossip. And we have regular evenings: cards, carpet bowls and darts. We have organised a bowls team to play in a local winter league following our summer training programme”.

“Other activities include fish and chip suppers with quiz, cheese and wine evenings, strawberry tea, Harvest supper, Hallow’een evening, Burns’ Night, Christmas lunch attended by 90% of the residents, carols by Scout and Guide band, various outings, a talk by our resident expert, Thelma Morgan, on Family History, and an ArtWorkshop by James Merriott, the renowned artist”.

“Our second AGM, on 22nd May, was attended by over 70% of the residents, giving full support to the Committee members for all their hard work. Finally, we have a welcome pack which is issued to all new residents and we are looking forward to the remaining dwellings being occupied in 2008.”
